pRFID - Purchasing Made Easy for Department of Defense
The OSD recognized the promise of RFID and committed to joining MIT's Auto-ID center in 1999. The future of total asset visibility (TAV) from the "factory to the foxhole." ODIN technologies is at the forefront of that program as a prime contractor for an IDIQ valued at up to $75 million awarded by the Product Manager Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (PM J-AIT). This contract can be accessed by all United States Department of Defense forces and agencies.
The pRFID contract includes line items for the latest EPCGlobal Gen 2 compliant hardware, for software to manage pRFID solutions and for serivces. Most pRFID contracts in the DoD community today do not have line items for up-to-date gear or for general services. ODIN was a logical choice given our experience over a three year contact installing passive RFID portals in Defense Distribution Centers World-wide and our extensive RFID work for the U.S. Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Defense Logistics Agency. Read about the DLA's pRFID deployment here (pdf).
Beyond hardware and software, this contract enables end users to contract for common pRFID services such as site assessments, solution designs, custom engineering, installation and support services, and training. ODIN technologies along with our teaming partners can help refine your solution objectives, engineer or design a working solution and move right into implementation all on a single contract vehicle. ODIN's award winning process canbe leveraged via the contract since all components to create a complete solution are on the contract.
PM J-AIT established this contract so it would be easy for users to access the top pRFID talent for CONUS and OCONUS deployments and operational support. And working with Team ODIN can count toward your WOSB and SDVOB annual targets.
